Rasta village
Rastafari Indigenous Village is located right outside of Montego Bay. Here you can spend the day learning about the Rastafari way of life, their history, life experiences and skills of the people. You can tour the gardens where the locals grow all of their food as well as learn about organic farming practices. After, indulge in vegan Rastafarian cuisine and continue afterwards with creating handicrafts with the locals. Finish the tour with live music and feel the vibe of the culture through dance. What’s more enchanting then live music, authentic cuisine with a gorgeous green backdrop?
Talk Like a Jamaican
As you travel around the island you might pick up a few words from our Jamaican patois. This is our colorful dialect, a mish-mash lingo from our English, Spanish, and French colonial ancestors.
Jamaican Food
Our food is known worldwide as some of the best food around. It is spicy and flavorful and full of fresh ingredients. Everybody loves a good jerk dish or a hot, flaky patty, fresh from the oven. Our oxtail is well-loved and even our ice-cream has been ranked as some of the best in the world. Which Jamaican food are you just salivating for? There are so many things you must try when in the land of rhythm and spice like our ackee and saltfish and our wide-ranging array of tropical coconut sweets.
